June 23 is the date chosen to celebrate the Day of the Lamb. This day coincides with the celebration of San Juan Day and in which it is intended to promote the consumption of suckling lamb and goat and also, that these meats are the protagonists in the embers of this day so marked for the public.

This initiative has been promoted by the lamb and kid meat production sector together with the inter-professional INTEROVIC, and in which it is intended not only to promote the knowledge of the benefits of this product but also the social, cultural, economic and environmental factors that implies the consumption of this type of meat.

The European Union has recognized the sheep as a sustainable meat that favors the environment and is therefore supporting a promotional campaign in which many activities will be organized over the next 3 years.
